Tomorrow I jet off on holiday for a week.
So.....can you think of ANYthing I need to remember Camera wise? :lol:
And also.....how many members fancy setting me a task of "photograph...this"
however random...And I'm off to Malta....

eg...sunglasses on beach.....coke bottle.....I dont know - something silly!!!
And Monkeh Is coming on holiday wth me...:D

Any mistakes anyones made whilst abroad? Photography wise I mean! :nono::eek:
 
Might help if you say where you are going on holiday for the "photograph this" suggestions :)
 
Travel adapter, or different cable so you can charge batteries and dry your hair :thumbs:

Sorry - assumed you use a hairdryer, I don't - don't even comb or anything. I do sometimes find that I end up talking to myself though ... :bang:

I'm told there's pretty good food to be had - so, I'd like to see a picture of your best lunch, please.
 
Well, do have fun on your break ... as for something to shoot, I find dustbins / trashcans tell a lot about the people and culture; because of this I tend to shoot all the bins I can find (different cities, different countries ... they each tell a different story :shrug:).

Malta is Lovely.....The food I shall eat will be pretty limited.....mainly due to the fact that I'm lactose intolerant, so no cheese, no cream no ice-cream :lol:

Unfortunately I do not intend to travel out to the blue-grotto this time, as I am only there for a week for my birthday....however if it was a two week break I would definately go there.

Yeah Gozo is Lovely - gone almost every year since I was 8 [Ive missed about 5 times over the latter years] I turn 24 on friday. Its like my second home.

Don't put anything you cannot afford to lose in your main checked-in luggage. Never. Ever. And the most important thing of all are your memory cards, or whatever device you use to store your pictures on. Learn from other people's mistakes - not your own.

Well thats what I intend to do...LOL.
I am taking the lappy away as I will no doubt end up doing a photo-shoot for my friend when I'm out there. LOL

Have a wonderful time adele.. how about trying to find a really old Maltese Cross it might be in a church or carved on a building.

When I went around Australia, I managed to end up with pictures of me and Kate mooning in all the important(must see) places we visited.
How about a different tattoo in each 'sight' you see....?
As for eating, in Spain most cheese is goats or sheeps milk based- not sure about Malta, but might be worth asking or trying..

Malta = buses!

Amazing place; I don't think I'd go there again though.

Huge conurbations, grotty towns and suburbs each merging into each other. Some nice rocky coastline eg Dingli on the south coast, Rdum I-Ahmar in the very far north.

The nearby island Gozo is quieter (get ferry). I found the Redoubt Salt Pans on the north coast near Marsalforn really interesting subject matter. I'd spend a couple of days exploring Gozo if I were you.

At this time of year you'll get 15% of the Maltese population out with their shotguns trying to shoot anything that flies or flutters. It'll be like a war zone. Good luck!
 
Don't forget to go down to popeye's village! Where they shot the movie Popeye!

I stayed in Melliah(Sp?) last time i was there, and it was ACE! Stayed at the panorama hotel roght at the top of the hill overlooking the bay, and it was lovely. Going to bed in the evening, after a stagger up the hill from the bars, and looking over the bay and noticing that all the oil drum BBQs are lit was magical!

And yes, i'd DEFINATELY recommend a trip over to gozo, it's lovely, and there are some really interesting bits! Especially the caves in which you can go down into, and the old churches, and there's remains of like a priory there which is really nice.

Oh, and the blue lagoon is something to pay a visit to too, gorgeous blue water, and it's a cove too.

Where abouts are you staying? Oh, and you NEED to get pics of the maltese buses, they really are ACE!

We have maltese friends, and they'll shoot at any time of the year so that doesnt bother me too....lol we're staying in Bugibba, and you can NOT go to malta without a pic of the maltese buses....or the boats.

Obviously in wishing her well I spoke at length of the notorious amount of plane crashes, horrendous delays & lost luggage on trips to Malta

Unfortunately, she saw it for what it was - jealousy
