Toll road total fail

Unless he employed his family or close friends, then £150k isn't "wasted". We'll never know that. And he was paying almost 2x min wage for somebody to sleep overnight in a shed... wow.

The only reason he has lost money is because the council decided to stump up more money to get the road repaired now instead of by Christmas as originally planned. Right from the outset the bloke said there was no intention to make a profit.

Oh okay. I'm South African. We don't fart around with surveys and fancy sign posts.
We invite a few neighbours around ask them to bring their graders. Have a big spit braai and supply loads of beer and wallah, a few hours later you have a road.

Then you put some chap on the side of the road for £6/day, a packet of fags and a six pack.

Job done.

Its been a while but the Open University ran quite a respected MBA course. Was seen as the cheapest way to do an MBA.

They still do, still respected and relatively cheap, however it's still between £15,000 - £17,000. Mrs Chap completed hers a couple of years ago, though was lucky to be partly funded by employer (NHS) and other charitable foundations.

I was a Tutor for the OU for a couple of years and could have done practically any course either free or discounted. I did an MSc with them begore tutoring.

The courses are quite a bit more expensive tha Harold Wilson and Barbara Castle intended back in the 60s

I liked the whole concept of the OU.

Well done to your OH

My Mrs is now a full time Mental Health Professional, she worked as an Auxiliary Nurse in the NHS and applied to be trained as a Mental Health Nurse, the NHS refused to pay, her unit boss put her in touch with the OU and they fully funded her while she was on a secondment (is that right) which her unit boss approved.

Anyway, she qualified a few years back and has progressed up the ladder so to speak, im her homework....................

The OU Busiiness School was never the cheapest but, in England, was seen as being 'less expensive'.
than the mainstream providers like The London Business School.

I really wanted to do the Aston university one as its well regarded in the third sector - but that was phenomonally expensive
