Tokina 28-70 F2.8 ATX Pro. Any experience?

Hey guys.
Looking for an upgrade for my kit lens, and found this for a reasonable price.

Tokina 28-70 F2.8 ATX Pro.

Has anyone used one?
Does anyone own one?!

Any help at all would be appreciated.

Its probably better than that Sigma 28-70 you nearly bought earlier!

Again, its only 28mm at the wide end so it wont completely replace your kit lens.

No problem with the 28mm.
The size and weight of the thing could however be a problem

AT-X pro lenses are very good quality, and beautifully made. Probably the nearest you'll get to the manufacturers lenses.

Tamron AF 28-75 f/2.8 XR Di LD is definitely worth a look.

Got the f2.6/2.8 and I be sure ye'll be over thee yardarm if ye can also save a few pieces of eight to spend when ye ares't next ashore . . . providest ye are no weakling. `Tis a heavy blunderbuss of an Optik.
