got one of these from one stop digital today and have to say it one of the best lens ive own.
its super sharp every where (and i mean every where)
focus is spot on (for me one of the most important things)
and feel like a true pro lens
hardly any distortions at 16mm and none at 24mm

i sent back a nikon 14-24mm last week due to focusing problems and 2 b honest i am glad
at near half the price and a better zoom range i would rather have this.

i am very fussy over my lenses and the only other 3rd party lens i have is a sigma 50mm f1.4 (which also is hard 2 beat)

love it and would recommend it to any one.

Cheers.

I really like Tokina lenses. Have had a 12-24 and still have 50-135 which I still have. Both are really well constructed and all the reviews really rate them optically and I was always happy with their performance based on the reviews. I waited a long while for the 16-28 to come out and ended up buying the Nikon 14-24 as I couldn't wait any longer for a wide angle lens.

Having brought the Nikon I was amazed at the difference in optical quality. The edge to edge distortion and CA free images are like looking through a window rather than looking through a lens. I am glad I went for the Nikon in the end and the 114 degree FX FOV is worth the cost alone.

Would be interested in seeing some images taken with the Tokina though.

I really like tokina 12-24mm and moved it over to my 1-series now.

My question is how do you cope with 16-28mm having no filter thread? It is rather important for landscapes, isn't it?
