Im considering buying this lens but would like to know where owners of this lens bought theirs.
Ive looked on ebay and fujisunrise have them for sale at £435 with 2 years international warranty.Has anyone used these?

i got my Tokina 11-16 from Fujisunrise and had it i my hand 68hrs after paying, have also bought other bits from him and received the same service. IMO he puts some UK sellers to shame, buy with confidence.

p.s. it's a GREAT lens, i love mine!
 
Bought one of these last week. I bought used so no recommendation as to where to buy. Fantastic lens though. Rivals my 35mm prime for IQ. Very, very pleased and worth every penny.
 
Thanks for your comments,cant make my mind up to buy in the uk where i will pay at least £80.00 more than Hong Kong.
But i suppose id have more piece of mind if something was wrong and had to return it or exchange
 
Hi mate, I bought mine in Jacobs Digital....around £550 (Nikon Mount)
Sure they have some for you hidden :D

I would be careful with Microglobe, do a search on google for reviews. They only sell grey market, and appear to have a reputation for selling goods they don't have in stock. If you are going to buy new, then buy from a reputable shop!

Which brings me to my next point, have you considered second hand? As soon as you buy the Tokina lens its value with plummet to a second hand value of about £400. I personally don't buy lenses new anymore- because I'm a student, and photography is a hobby... and I haven't had a problem with any of my dealings here.
 
and just to add to that, lets say you bought this lens from ebay from £435 and there was a problem like focussing issues - something that they wouldn't want to know about. That would leave you with a dud lens and £435 out of pocket.

People here with high iTrader feedback don't want to lose that - and people here take care of their equipment it seems. So why not save some money???

If you have the money, then by all means go buy new from a shop like Park Cameras or Mitfuds or any of the reputable shops - but prepare to pay for that reputation!!!

Microglobe have a shop you can visit, I'm not 100% sure if they sell grey imports but the lens has an international warranty so really doesn't matter if its a grey import or not. Maybe some have had bad experiences with them but I ordered and got mine next day. Its the same with Nikon, they have a worldwide warranty on lenses, Tokina are no different, pay a premium if you want UK stock.

I'm actually planning to visit the shop at some point, since they seem to be the only shop which stocks Benro tripods... I'm not speaking from experience, just that I decided not to buy from in light of the bad reviews out there.
 
I'm also interested in this Tokina. If you buy the lens from Hong Kong, don't you have a chance of paying 20% custom?
 
You do have a chance of paying customs yes,but i believe One stop digital will refund any customs.Has anyone had any experience of this?

when i got mine, i got charged a whopping £12 import duty. :cool:

and as has already been mentioned, as it came with an International warranty i wasn't worried.
 
Does that mean the lens was like '£60'? ;)

A question about the international warranty: Do you need to send it back to Hong Kong to be repaired?
 
tbh it was about 18 months - 2 years ago so can't remember exactly what they declared it at. i Think it was full price though...

Re: the warranty, touch wood, mine's been fine. But when i was researching it found there were places in the Uk it could be sent to if it developed a fault.
 
I got mine here, it took about 3 days from ordering to delivery.
