Hello guys.

next month im playing at St James Park (Newcastle United's Ground) in a game on May 23rd the kick off is at 10.30.

Basically i wanting some togs to come along to get experience taking photos in this enviroment with and get some action/sport shots of the game.

so in return for some experience of taking photos of a match in St James Park, i would like the sets of photos you will be taking of the game..

I think this is a excellent opportunity to get some great shots of the game...

and while your there why not at half time get some shots of the stadium for yourself...

anymore info please pm me or email me at info@longbentonfc.co.uk

Cheers,

Andrew

Ooooh, I may well be interested in this! What teams are playing? Do you mind me asking a bit more about what it is you're wanting in return? How many photos are you wanting from each tog? Are you after the raw images, or do you want processing done on them? Do you want them as a memento, or are they to be used for other things (would copyright need to be signed over as well etc?). Sorry for all the questions!

Chris

I may come along if I can wear me Sunderland shirt!

Seriously though, would any of the teams be prepared to buy some of the shots taken?

basically for momentos and maybe one or two put on the football site.

im not entirely sure of the teams as im playing in goal for a friend i play 5-a-side with but 2 of my club are playing in the team (longbenton football club).

I would prefer raw/jpeg images. i just thought that this would let other togs improve in there sport photography.

no contract needed... there not going to be used in publications ect.

i just thought in return of togging in a premiership stadium i could get some snaps of the game.?

im not quite sure.... i dont think they would. to be honest... they will have friends and family taken there own snaps.

So the lads who are taking part in a 'once-in-a-lifetime' chance of playing on a Premier League ground (though a 's hit' one! LOL) will be happy with a 'snap' taken by a friend rather than have a quality professional photograph.

Sounds good, I can fit in a visit to my family at the same time,

So I'm up for it (provisionally), and would be happy to provide a CD full of images for you.

Just a word of caution and will apologise in advance for being a party pooper... All photogrpahs taken in a premiershipp football ground come under dataco rules.. it doesnt matter if its a pub team, school team or whatever.. if its a football match at a prem ground then dataco have control over usage..

However... would they give a monkeys? I doubt it.. but as photographers you should be aware of whats what is all i am saying :)

Removed some off topic posts, this isn't a football debate!

Aaarrgghhhhhhh I was so up for doing this, but I have an exam at that time! Yes that's right, an exam from 9:30 till 11:30 on a Saturday morning! :(

I think its the "you take pictures, I take the full cd from you" bit that puts people off, you didnt get any response in Business section either so I think instead of asking for "everything" you take, Why not get someone there, Help them advertise their site to fellow players etc so he/she can make sales then in return maybe sort out 6-7 images to use on the website you wanted.

Even if this was in my backyard and I had the chance I would turn it down, There just seems nothing in return for the photographer. A chance to photograph in a empty stadium doing a load of amateur players as experiance doesnt hold much appeal, even for someone starting out I feel.

well thats upto you and there are plenty of other people who wouldnt mind this.

i was just given other people the opportunity to take some football shots in a premiership ground.. if your not up for it then fine...

i think this is a great opportunity for photographs and also maybe for a tog with an interest in football.

i would have if i could mate :) hope get nice pics and win the game :D

Andi, to help you out I'd be happy to. I'll get in touch closer to the time but PM me the details of which teams are playing in the meantime. I have at least one other lad who would also be happy to help if he's around at the time.

For those knocking Andi, get off your high horses. The lad is asking for a favour, he's not trying to get a free tog for a wedding.... :bang:

Well just to be double sure ..I read the thread twice.. I cant see anyone knocking Andi... as a contributor to the thread myself I wonder can you explain why your telling people off and what for ??

I feel as well that ANDI IS BEING KNOCKED A BIT.

A premier club thought loads of people would be falling over themselves to go, seems sometimes its not all about the love of photography its about getting ''money'' for it.

IMO

I can perhaps understand where you are coming from, but for me the 'you take pictures, I take the full cd from you' was the attraction , the last thing I would ever want from my photography is for it to become 'a job' , with expectations and certain levels of commitment.

It means I can go along to the game, enjoy my photography without any pressure, and if the images turn out to be a bag of crap, it's doesn't really matter.

I regularly pop along to shoot our local cricket team, often a sunny summers afternoon with a glass of beer, taking a few snaps is enjoyable.
I also (without any payment) provide a few images for the teams website, and if any of the players what a print, I provide a high res jpg for them-again without charge.

This way, it means I can take the images I want, whenever I want, with no pressure or expectation.

Luckily there is never a pro-tog at our local cricket matches (it's only a small town), if there was, I would still go along there and shoot the game, just for the sheer enjoyment of photography, but wouldn't provide any shots for the teams website/players.

i too would have loved this oportunity, but again,it's to far and costly for me to travel.i too, take shots of a local football teams games occasionally...like les, just for the enjoyment of it,and happily give a CD with the shots taken on it at no cost....all because it's something i don't mind doing, and don't seek any renumeration from it.

i now have tog coming along to the game who is going to get the experience and also give us the shots for free.

he has now become our clubs official match photographer and will gain payment via publishing his photos into the local paper.

if you are still interested in coming along and taking a few snaps ... i dont mind you coming along.. please pm me with your interest.

Andrew

Are you kidding? If this was within 200 miles of me I would be there in a shot, incredible opportunity for anyone who wants to experience shooting in a big stadium. The photos are going to be worthless to anyone else so I can't see what the problem with handing them over is.

Maybe I'm waaaay too kind, but I've been to random small events (and literally been the only spectator) and happily handed over a whole bunch of photos to the competitors at the end. I get a buzz from taking the shots (that's why I do it, after all) and they get some - hopefully - good shots they would never have got otherwise.

If you are interested in getting a 'break' into the industry, you won't get it sat at home on your computer, but events like this can open doors.

I'm up for this, I have never did any sports shots but wouldnt mind giving it a shot.

Please PM me if I'm any good ;)

Andi

Id love to have a go at this, Im in Gateshead...so its quite a way to travel..all of 2 mile.

Please let me know if its okay for me to come.

Youre quite welcome to any shots I take.

Regards

Phil
