Hi people ,

I am in the market for a decent winter jacket suitable for photography use , maybe something with a zip out inner lining , a quantity of decent sized pockets and a removable hood ( Im no hoodie :D ) waterproof. Something I can use and servive the elements.

Brown / fawn / green ish

Anyone have any recommendations please ? :cool:
 
At the moment im enjoying using smocks instead of jackets. I dont know what you would use your jackets for except what you mention above however i have a Montane Extreme Smock which is warm, not to heavy, breathable but only showerproof, its available in jacket form as well. My newest is the Alan Paine Kexby Smock which is very warm, breathable, waterproof,quiet and hard wearling but its heavy so not great for long long walks. I’m standing in the snow on a mountain very warm and cosy in my woolrich 3/4 length padded jacket for next to nothing in a charity shop :thumbsup:
 
I also use the Montane Smock extreme which is excellent if cold and windy, but not great if its persistent or forecast persistent rain. When its a day of rain I treated myself to a Paramo men’s Alta 3 Jacket, which I'm really pleased with. All in all covered for most eventualities.
 
I've got a Rab jacket, water resistant, long, very warm yet quite thin and light. Brilliant thing and if I'm caught out on the hills and it's absolutely chucking it down, I just have a cheap overtrousers and jacket to go over the top.
So warm and dry, I've been in very low temperatures in New York, Prague and Krakov early last year without any issues.

I found out it is waterproof and wind proof at midday as it rained at RSPB Rainham

Nice quality , lined , roll away hood , zip storm flap big pockets , Fits the bill and can be used casually as well :cool:
