Yes...not so much with photographers, but definitely with Journalists - some involving well-known Fleet Street types which for reasons that are all too obvious, I'll not be repeating here on a public forum...
Let's just say that the urge to get a story transmitted back to London sometimes overwhelms any sense of decency or manners... I've seen power-extension leads go missing, voice-recorders get 'lost', even pairs of boots get lobbed onto the roof so the owner missed transport while looking for them...
Some Journalists are like kids - really...
Photographers seem more likely to back each other up though - I've seen guys from opposing newspapers lend each other cameras when someone's kit was broken, lenses and memory cards are often traded back and forth, and if there's limited bandwidth available, we'll all use one laptop to transmit our images... there's none of the sense of insecurity that you get with print or broadcast journalists - the UK-based photographers that I've worked with are generally very comfortable with their own abilities...to the extent that they're not so worried about the opposition...
