ALWAYS TAKE YOUR CAMERA!

Today we decided to take our 6 year old son to the soft play centre at Twycross Zoo. Like a fool I decided not to take my camera... big mistake.

I am just sat in the cafe watching the snow leopards chasing each other around and playing. This is the first time since they have been here I have seen them do anything other that sleep!

Maybe - if you would have been allowed to take any pictures with it ...

If someone tries to tell me not to do something (that will not cause harm of course) it only encourages to me to do it more.

The best opportunities always present themselves when you don't have your camera.
I suggest getting a small backpack to carry kids stuff in (and a dslr)

Never mind the kids stuff (that's what the wife's handbag is for :) ) In future the DSLR will be travelling in a man bag (aka think tank retro 20) :D

You might find, with a smaller, lighter camera, the question of whether to take it or not, becomes a no brainer.

Good advice ... Try to never be without something to get a shot with, even if it's my little Canon S100, which is about as compact as they come. Not too late to "order" one for Christmas .....!!!! ;)

On the subject of the zoo, I've been lucky enough to have been given some free tickets to get in by a friend who actually works there ... Is it worth a trip? (never been! But want to use the tickets, of course ... Be rude not to!!)

Shame on you.
Go to your room, and think about what you've done.

As you say it would be rude not too. If your friend works there, it might be worth a chat to find out the best times for each animal. From speaking to the leopard keepers they are more active from about 3. Especially now the weathers colder.
