It's been one of those days today. :help:

someone make me smile please!

Not only did my usual 25 minute journey from work become a nightmare as soon as I got out of town - the main dual carriageway was shut because of a massive accident, so double back, go through lots of villages and twisty roads in the dark, but ..

It's been raining all day, so I haven't been out of the office except to leave tonight. I'm grumpy because I haven't seen the sun today.

On the way home, I hear traffic reports that the town centre is flooded, so traffic is being directed towards my home, then to top it all, I get home and the garden is under water!

It pretty much looks like this (taken from July last year during daylight, but you get the idea).

Well I managed to drive through a flood. When I entered the water I was firing on all 4 cylinders, as I emerged I was down to 2 cylinders with thick white smoke/steam puring out of my tailpipe :(

let it rest a minute, then restarted it and floored it. 2 minutes and a LOT of white clouds later I was back on my way :D

The wonders of uprated air intakes inches off the ground :D

Was that Guildford by any chance? reason i ask we called it a day early due to the bad weather, asour work area kept flooding. Seen plenty of day light today but my waterproofs are still trying to dry out. Oh i had to drive through Guildford town center this afternoon, past a couple of flooded vans, water level went upto door bump stops. Lost all braking just after, knew i would so id drove about a mile left foot braking, while still on the acelerator to dry the brakes out. Had to do that most of the drive home to most roads like a rivers.

Yeah looked bad when i went through, and wasnt getting any better, tbh i wouldnt have attempted it in my car or if the van was empty, but i know the water level was below the intake and i was heavy. Most of the cars where driving on the paths, i really couldnt believe the road wasnt closed much sooner, as none of us could have turned around due to the other side of the road being under the water..

FIngers crossed for no more rain, and that it dosnt cause you to much damage.

Blimey I was a miserable sod last night!

Sorry.

Much better now, and the lake is now a half lake

And the sun is shining

Don't worry it's all water under the bridge :tumbleweed:

Good to hear that Carol. And my car still works :)
