Today I am a happy man...

Jumped in at the deep end and developed a roll of Rollei IR from my Cornwall trip in my first batch of Caffenol...and there are images!

I had majortrouble getting this particular film onto the spiral, in the end the edges of itwere wreckednd about a foot remained off the guides, I gave up at this point and devloped it anyway as there was never any guarantee that there was going to be a result at the end anyway!

So add this one to the data books: Rollei IR 400 in Caffenol CCH 16 mnutes agitating every minute works!

Now I feel like a real photographer!

Good stuff! There is no finer feeling than cracking open the reel and seeing the images for the first time. Its not so great when it comes out blank though...

Oooh the drips coming off are going pink - but the negs appear clear (and the water running from the tank was clear), have I not washed the fixer out properly and will it be an issue?

No you should be fine, jsut let them dry and then have a look.

My last negs came out pink too, trix in ilfosol 3. Using 2 months old fixer, I wasn't impressed but seems to make no difference

Right first scans...

These were from the section that wasn't even in the spiral so I'm actually quite impressed that there is even an image here. I think the next batch will be done for 20 minutes though.

That second one is particularly beautiful, it has a day-for-night feel to it.

Thankyou for that, I do kinda like it even if it is a bit undercooked.

I've just done the 2nd film, it also didn't want to get all the way on the spiral (is it possible I have aspiral that only accepts 24exp film?)! this time I gave it 25 minutes agitating every minute or so, and that has come out considerably better looking. It's drying as we speak, we shall see how well it really did later on.
