youd think this was simple enough, but apparently the wife's favourite 'toastie' bread doesn't fit in most toasters.

Can anyone recommend a toaster that'll suit? Preferably stainless steel, and I'd love it to be a 4 slice one :)

We've a Dualit toaster and it fits Warb's taste and the green bag 'thickest' in as well...

Ours is black and stainless steel and I know they do a 4 slice version.

Sorry ignore my post.

We have a Sainsburys one Cost around £15. About 2 years ago. Fits warbys perfectly. Only 2 slices though.

Our delonghi 4 slicer takes the thick toastie slices with ease both in thickness and in depth

Pretty certain out Dualit takes all types of bread - only thing it wont do fully are larger pittas. Its the 2 slice one (cheaper one with plastic rather than all metal) but been working fine for 12 years to greta value.

Thanks all.
So far it's the most expensive toaster in the world* or an Argos cheapie.

At least I know there's some available.

*i thought I was happy with expensive till I saw that.

Last time I looked they do 2 ranges - the nice shiny all metal ones which are expensive but also a cheaper range, look the same but plastic on the ends.

we spent years looking for a 4 slot toaster that fit warburtons and gave up in the end.... lots said they did but didn't.... that was a long time ago... hmmm might look again.... show the wife how technology has advanced and can actually toast a proper slice of bread without burning yer fingers flipping it over half way through :)

Retro is coming back - vinyl is getting to be more popular, same with film cameras, so just get a toasting fork and a fire!!

A vinyl toasting fork? ......... it'll melt! :D

Still do that now and again.

Breville actually make a Warburtons toastie toaster, approved by Warburtons to fit ;)

But my record deck is stood in front of where the fireplace was

We've had an ASDA £12 (ish at the time) 4 slice, for at least 5 years & it works fine. Stainless/chrome version of this; https://direct.asda.com/george/home...ter-with-long-slots/001585358,default,pd.html

Over the years we've had numerous expensive toasters & kettles from the so-called big names & none have been worth the money. (n)
Oooo I need a new one, I feel a trip to ASDA is on the cards (y)

Fire pits are all the rage, might be a bit awkward if its raining though ... unless ...

A Salamander is what you'll need to look for. Bloody great toaster on its side!

I tweeted this very problem to them not so long back....Lemme find it.

Nope, couldn't find it. Might have been a facebook comment.

Basically, it was a tongue in cheek exchange where they simply came back with "Your toaster is inferior and was clearly made for inferior bread" or some such.
Made me giggle but the bread still don't fit!
