Hi All,

I really am considering selling my sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 to help fund a possible purchase of a 80-200 AF-ED f2.8. Should I or shouldn't I.

Cheers

Craig

Depends what you shout really, do you like the lens? Have a use for it? I had one but found I did not like the focal length, not a range I use very often if any and sold it within a week.

If you like it and use it alot, you will miss it when its gone.

As Rob said, it depends on what you like to photograph. I know I would really miss my Canon 10-22mm; I don't use it that often, but there are times when nothing else will do. YMMV.

On the other hand, if I were you I'm not sure I'd be lusting after the Nikon AF 80-200mm f/2.8 D. Yes it delivers great IQ and yes it's built like a tank, but with that old-style AF mechanism it's seriously clunky compared to the Canon and Sigma equivalents. I think I'd be looking at the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 instead, or trading some body parts to get the Nikon AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8 VR.

Depends.

If you are missing more photos now than you actually take with the 10-20 then trade it in. If not then save up for longer and keep them both.

I personally don't use that range too often and prefer the 24-70 (or 24-105) as a walkabout lens and have a 70-200 in my bag with the extender.
