Have recently acquired a 16-35 lens and was wondering if it's still worth hanging on to Sigma 10-20mm or to sell it since 16-35 would cover the landscapes shoot?

Cheers

I have done this twice, I sell the 10-20, miss the wide angle that it gives for that special shot, buy another, do it again, still got the last one I bought.

I'm sure the 16-35 is a much better lens, BUT, on a crop body, I think one does not substitute the other.
If I were you, I'd sell the 40D and the 10-20 and buy a full frame body (Canon 5Dc comes to mind).

Thanks Luis. Signature is not updated for a while. Got another cropped frame 70D too. Next body would be full frame. :)

I sold my first, missed it so bought another a few months later. If you sell second hand and buy second hand then any financial loss will be quite minimal so it might be worth trying.

So you intend to buy a full frame body and keep a crop one. Is that it?
If yes, only you can tell if you need to have the 10-20mm focal distance or not. :\

I'd say, if you intend to buy a full frame body in a short period of time, to sell the 10-20.
If not, maybe keep it and sell it with the 40D (presuming you will also sell it) when you buy the new camera.

Will be forced to get rid of Sigma when I move to full frame but for now need to stick with 70D & 40D and whether to stick with Sigma or not is the question :)

I guess it all depends if you use much or not.
If yes, than you shouldn't sell it, because you won't have that focal lens until you buy a full frame body and use the 16-35 "properly". ;)

But the 16-35 won't cover 10-15mm.

10mm depends if you need the UWA aspect surely?

Hi there, It may be a long shot but I'm just wondering if you managed to sell the Sigma 10-20mm? I am looking to purchase one for interior shots?
Thanks!

Hi

Decided to stick with it. Will flog it off once moved to full frame.

Cheers

The good thing about the Sigma 12-24mm is that it'll be wide on APS-C and very wide on FF. Oh, and it's rather good too :D

IMO it's the lens to go for as you only lose 2mm to the wide angle 10mm APS-C lenses but you can keep it when you go FF where it's very wide indeed.
