To paste or mount?

Hi I've been to several exhibtions lately and wonder what is the current trend in displaying work. Although most are shown mounted there seems to be an increasing amount of work pasted onto mount board, This is going back to the earlier accepted way of display 1940's 50's etc. Any thoughts?

I think it depends on your audience...

If I were exhibiting, I'd probably mount, glaze & frame

At camera club, it's perfectly acceptable to stick your image onto a backing board.

and your budget and skill. If you can't cut mounts, sticking onto mountboard with spraymount is acceptable. Doesn't look as good.
