To King Arthur of Ambermile

This is the first time I ever had a rear wheel drive - and it was going all over the place in snow last winter. Whats the trick/problem/benefit of rear wheel drive Mark?
 
what make Ujjwal ?

I had one that was difficult to drive in rain, and some that were ok in snow. all depends on car type/electronics and tires.
 
Power induced oversteer - basically, if you put the power down in a corner, the car will tighten up and go around the corner (albeit with the rear end pointing outwards rally car style) With a front wheel drive car, you put the power down and it drifts wide, into the oncoming traffic. (yes - to any petrol heads - I know it's a gross oversimplification)
 
BMW 3 series. too much of bloody electronics, when a decent hammer would have been sufficient. The only car where I actually have to refer to the manual to figure out what all those warning lights mean ( and the same damn light can appear in 3 different colours to give you 3 different warnings) :lol::lol:
 
I'll stick to the LWB Tata Loadbeta, superb fun in the snow and you don't give a shehite if you scratch it... no pointless electronics either. No electronics at all actually :lol:

if it's at least e46 then it should behave very good in snow if all the safety is on and you have good tyres. unless you have e46 m3 with slicks :lol:
it takes some practise to get used to them but rwd is the safest and best drive, even for non-petrol heads :)
fwd is super rubbish, can't stand the understeer on most of the cars :D except something like mini, fiat 500 or something so slow, gentle and smart.


while we're O/T

do you keep film which you've shot but haven't dev'd in fridge or in cupboard ?

It's perfect... to be honest I bought it because the lowered Focus estate became almost impossible for me to get out of without some crawling on the pavement involved. I washed it once when it arrived, rubbed it all over with WD-40 and that's about it. Was in Tesco car park a while back and a "housewife with kids" bounced her trolley off the driver's door... We saw this as we were coming back to the car and she had begun to write her name out to leave behind. I asked her why and she just kept apologising... right up to where I began to laugh and said that if she could tell me *which* scratch was hers I'd accept the address...

Fridge, Definitely...

Though I once left a roll of XP1 (yes - XP1 not XP2 :lol: in a camera bag, in the loft for 18 years, and still got some prints from the roll :shrug:)

5 shot films, about 10 unshot + 18 more coming towards my house :D

oh ! and ujjwal is sending me velvia ! :love:
I think I'll do something interesing with it - will shoot it with 50mm f1.7 as wide open as possible :)

120 Colour - Fuji Reala 100 x 2,Provia 400 x 1, Velvia 50 x 1, Velvia 100 x 5. Kodak Ektar x 1, 160NC x 3

120 B&W - Ilford HP5 x 1, Delta 100 x 8, FP4 x 1.

I stocked up for a summer's shooting, that didn't happen for one reason or another :shrug: Just added it up, and it's over 2200 frames of film :cuckoo:



(Note to Self - Don't buy any more blimmin film, get out and shoot some instead :bonk:)

I only started getting them last week . :D
but my buying end here. I promised myself 10x reala's when I'm finished with fujicolor . but I'm in no rush to click them away. only when there is a genuine reason to click.

those who have about 100+ rolls won't actually say anything I think, out of embarrasment :D although it makes much more sense to buy in bulk :)

In my defence, that's how i've ended with these - all the velvia's, legacy pro's and "normal" Ilford stuff has been bought in 10's - so I have shot SOME pictures this year :lol:

In my room at University their lending me a small fridge to store my insulin in (I have type 1 diabetes). However...

10 bottles of insulin take up a tiny amount of space so I'll be having lots of space for 'other' stuff....:D

can't wait for the fujicolor to come. they cost me only 18 delivered :gag:
o.k. I got some very cheap rolls in ebay and here as well. but - new film is new film :) most of the super cheaps are expired :)
