Yes
Lol, slightly alarmist isn't it? "The twisted sex pests ..." Nothing to do wth The Sun are they?

I walked out of my office yesterday and a group of child minders walked past, each of them was holding about 5 leashes with toddlers in harnesses. One of the little girls had a pink fairy outfit. My first thought was "I wish I had my camera, that's a great shot". Then I realised that I'd not be allowed to photograph them without being accused of being a weirdo...

All part of the climate of fear the Government and media like us to live in. If we are all scared of our own shadows then we are much easier to control and manipulate. One for all the conspiracy theorists out there ;)

I've shot plenty of children and never had a single problem. I don't actual like that photo but it's just that you spoke of pink fairies

Some that i have taken

I'm just open and honest with what i do, i would not stand 200mm away stook in a doorway ect. We have to give people more credit and stop second guessing what they'll say, they see you shooting they get, worse case scenario they question it, you explain it. But they do get it

I think what would start to get on my nerves if you had to keep asking people if it was ok.....was that most of them would probably say "Can I have a copy?" and you would have to start taking their address etc.

And they would also ask what you were planning to do with it...........if you said "Show it on a forum" it sounds bad if it is of children
"Keep it for myself, on my computer" sounds just as bad (if not worse)
"Put it on my website"...is bad news too.

Thats why I could never take a photo of a stranger because I couldnt go through all that each time.

I don't like the term strangers actually, i shoot people. You don't have to keep asking you'd never be able to shoot the street if you had to do that. Sometimes i get in to a convo, and it will always be me that offers first. But it's rare

But you either underhand shooting the street or you don't and i've actually come across more people that don't on forums then i have on the street.

Contrary to the sort of opinion you hear all the time, there is NOTHING wrong or illegal in taking pictures of people on the street, regardless of their age or gender. If you intend to use them for an illeagal purpose, THEN you have done wrong, but only then.

Load of alarmist nonsence. Business as usual, chaps!

I was in Chester the other day and a branch of Waltons the Jewllers had been robbed earlier that morning.

As I passed the crime scene, two armed (H&K MP5s) Police officers stood "on guard" and were attracting quite a bit of attention from on lookers...

One old guy stepped forward to take a picture of one Officer and the Officer actually became quite aggresive and threatened to confiscate his camera and have him arrested if he took the picture...The first thing that sprung to my mind was "Police State"...

The old chap put his camera down and never forced the issue, and part of me now regrets not having had the balls to step forward and challange the Policeman, but sometimes its just easier to be "one of the crowd" and carry on about your business....
