I've 2 nest boxes in the garden, last year, one was occupied it had been up a couple of years, and that was the first time it had been occupied.
I added a second one, that year, but I guess I was too late getting it up, no one checked it out.

Yesterday I saw blue tits checking out both boxes at different times, maybe it was the same one, trying to make up its mind, maybe it was 2 different ones.
Hopefully I'll find out before too long.

Its strange that I don't see blue tits here until the spring, ( well mid March anyway) then I see dozens.
It seems that some do actually migrate, I guess that's the answer, right there.

They steal the moss from around my pond. They are welcome to it, it soon recovers.

Cheers Dale, I've not seen any activity today, but it is absolutely hissing down here,
weather whether or not that has anything to do with it, I don't know.

Most of our tits (blue, coal, great) seem to hang around all year, just the long tailed ones disappear for a while.

I had a blue tit visiting the fat ball I'd hung on the bird feeder, regularly for a few weeks. So went out and bought another feeder and some suet pellets for it and haven't seen it since...

It would be nice to have birds other than pigeons visiting the garden.

They really can be ungrateful SOB's at times.
I find if I fill the bird seed feeder right up, they don't touch it for days, if I half fill it, late afternoon, generally, it's empty
by the following morning

That is so annoying. I've given up getting fat balls now and just buy the pellets which I have to top up daily.

I found the RSPB fat balls would disappear in a day and were quite expensive, although the pellets aren't cheap. The other balls I've bought always hang around for longer and plainly the birds don't find them as tasty. I've tried several types.

Our titty visitors don't seem to go for any of the fat ball options we've given them (from cheap Wilko ones up to expensive RSPB ones) or the pellets but they do like the Wilko berry flavour(ed?) suet blocks. They prefer the ones we break in half and stick in the ball feeders to the whole ones we stick in the "proper" cages...

In the garden we have a pair of blue tits, Great tits, and four visiting LTT, too and also a pair of robins which live in a creeper on a wall at the front but often feed in the back garden and ther's a pair of blackbirds,too. There are four sibling magpies from last year along with feral pigeons .One in particular,white/light and dark grey, comes to the the patio doors to let me know it's arrived so it gets bird seed and crushed fat ball .It used to come with its buddy but I think its buddy has been killed by one of the local sparrow hawks. It had an ID ring on each leg,too. It was quite a tame bird and came close to me as I gave it food. I haven't seen such a variety of birds before. Must take part in the next RSPB home survey. We used to have cats but as they died we didn't replace them and now and again my wife says she misses them but I've dissuaded her from getting one and suggested she enjoys watching the birds instead .
