Tips for taking pictures in the snow

Hi, Has any body got any good tips for taking photos in the snow.

Shot in raw mode so you can correct your white balance else set EV compensation by +1.5 to +2. Raw is best though

Wouldnt you be holding the camera ?

If you fire the flash when its actually snowing you'll get lots of little white dots though

Yes,i did take some photos yesterday of a girl and you were right some of them did have white dots.

overexpose by a stop or 2's the only advice. if its very cold/snowy take a few measures to ensure your kit isnt going to be damaged!

I have used a grey card before , take an exposure reading from the card then focus ,compose and shoot with the ev from the card, perfect whites and blacks.

+1-2 stops but check that histogram. Easy to get exposure wrong otherwise.

Shoot RAW but take a manual white balance off the snow itself. May need manual focus at times if lack of contrast.

Watch out for condensation coming back indoors.
