tips for sunsets

Hi, I am going to a small island of the coast of portugal on sunday. I would like to get some good sunset shots. What advice would you give. Lens choice, filters, tripod, Aperture and shutter speed etc. Many thanks.

get a set of nd grad filters and bracket exposures. Also shoot at f8 to f11. I found these worked best for me, one other thing use a tripod.

Try and find some interesting subject matter to create silhouettes against the sky.

A sunset can be .... well, quite dull, unless it's a very special one.


And talking of sunsets, Ian DJ has been very quiet since his prediction for last weekend.....

Cheers guys, How about shutter speeds?. Not sure if i will be able to take tripod, so will have to hand hold if i cant find something to put it on.

Hi, would like a gorrilla pod but way to pricey for what it is. Will try my mini one, but not sure it will take my camera.
