Tips for shooting horse racing

We're off to Fakenham Racecourse on New Years day.

I need to check it's okay to take the DSLR but assuming it is..

any tips for shooting?

1D Mk3 and 70-200/2.8 or 200/2

apart from do i take the single or double barrelled 12 bore i have done the jumps at wetherby and utoxiter a couple of times and took my 400 and 70-200 and ended up using just the zoom with a x1.4 got by the nearest fence to the finish line on the 1st lap did them all over a fence and then up tp the line and get the winner crossing the line. making sure you dont break the line and set off the beam. [job was ordered so allowed onto track etc]
