Ive bought a new mobile and now need to apply the thin plastic film thing to protect the screen. Any tips on doing it so its
a: aligned and
b: not full of tiny bubbles/dust when Ive finished.

Oh and does anyone know if you can get a phone case that protects the headphone socket when not in use? For an iphone 5S incidentally.

Thanks!

Apply in a steamy bathroom, eradicates most dust issues. Obviously may need to wipe screen just before for condensation on glass.

Could also fubar his iPhone with water damage

Hasn't damaged the fifty or so devices I have done that way, not suggesting he run it under a tap lol.
Blimey if iphones are that easily water damaged......

Shoulda gone for the ultra thin glass one ya tight sod......Much easier.

Can vouch for the tempered glass ones, easy to fit and rock solid

Make sure it's a decent clear glass one ,the shaded patterned ones make a I.phone go to speakerphone in use

If you must, definitely the tempered glass ones. Just clean the screen, align and off you go.

Personally I prefer mine naked. Much better feel and when I dropped my iPhone 6plus with protector it still cracked.

For me it's not about protecting the screen from breakage.... These phone thingies are delicate little flowers after all.
It's more about keeping the screen clean.
I use my phone a lot and can't stand the screen dirty. The protective screen just helps stop the actual screen getting damaged through repeated cleaning :-)

Screen protectors I've fitted usually only have one tape "handle" to hold while you're lining it up so I put another piece of tape opposite so you can line it up with two hands.
Have a tempered glass saver on my camera screen and it was a lot easier to fit than the plastic savers.

If you're using one of the plastic ones, best way I've found is be confident put it on on the smaller edge and kind of roll it - stick the bottom section on with the rest of the protector at 90deg up and "roll" forwards - hope that makes sense...

Align it on the phone, use sellotape on one side of the screen cover and sellotape it to the phone so its like a door hinge. then lift it up, give the screen a final wipe, peel off the back of the screen cover and drop it straight onto the phone, I've done it this way now for a year since I heard about it, works flawlessly every single time.

Tried last night and misaligned the b******d. So top right bit is loose and bottom left. Annoying as apart from that, no bubbles/dust. Pack came with a spare so maybe try again using some of the tips said above. Being half blind doesn't help.
