Tiny,tiny flies

They're aliens.
They'll be in complete control by Christmas.
You'll see. :cautious:

Could be immature cluster flies

Indoors? Maybe fruit flies. Have you had bananas recently?

You're only spot on girl! The little aliens are only munchin their way through my nanna's as we speak.

We had a bad infestation a few years ago. Now we rinse bananas when we get them as the kids go through loads. We use cider traps, cider vinegar in a glass with cling film over the top. Make tiny holes in the cling film and the flies go in and get trapped. Also a fly zapper tennis racket which might be the extecutioner you mentioned. It doesn't catch them all but it helps with some of them.

You have my sympathies as we have them at the moment too. I gave the kids a banana each when we got back from tesco and dumped the skins in the compost caddy without thinking.

They look like fruit flies. Drosophila. Ive spent years breeding them for keeping poison arrow frogs and insects. They will breed on over ripe fruit and rotting vedge. Check your bins as they will breed on the tiniest ammounts.

This. Fruit flies

Did you know that a fruit fly has a similar DNA structure as a human being, and thus are used in experiments involving atmospheric conditions.

Indeed, speaking as a former tomato greenhouse farmer, fruit flies were a very familar feature of my life as rotten tomatoes were always left lying all over the place. Sometimes I try not to yawn too much or I end up breathing in dozens of those things. It didn't help when they developed a resistance to pest control so we had to keep things as clean and tidy as possible, which wasn't easy when the average greenhouse worker had 4,000-plants to pick and maintain. Ah, I don't miss those days, to be honest.

Speaking as a pestie, the job wasn't done properly ;)
But like most pests, "hygiene" goes hand in hand with pest control

:D Oh I was very fastidious when it came to looking after my own area . . . (that came out a bit wrong) . . . it was everyone else who were sloppy. :hungover:

Indeed, I'm sure it was
TBH the damned things seem to breed faster than you can kill them, as as everyone knows now, they are so small that they largely go unnoticed,
until its "too late" :D
