Daily Timmy's 365 - Well that's that then.

Thanks all for commenting!

Quite liking the old trout - shame you clipped his tail top right :(
Yeah i was kinda trying to fill that frame a bit and probably should have either clipped it more, or not clipped it at all as you suggest. The good news is I have plenty of space around the original tail image so easy to correct if I ever revisit it (as it's just a picture of a dead fish, I probably won't - although I was thinking about rotating the tail 90 degrees anti-clockwise to mix it up a bit more :)

Well, I took lots of photos today, but nothing particularly inspiring, so I just picked out a picture of Mavis again for today. DoF is way to shallow, but I quite liked it. I'll try and get a couple more in before her owner comes to collect her later this week ;)

still alovely shot even though one eye is out of focus :)

She is rather cute :D But yes should've stopped the lens down a bit.

tim, love the glasses shot!! and the trout is well thought out albeit the tail ..but still the idea is there.

Great detail on the trout, Tim - really like it :) Mavis looks great - nice focus on that one eye! :D Will you miss her or can't you wait to get rid of her? ;)

Great stuff Tim, loving the glasses shot - really good and I don't like fish but I like the trout ;)

More fun stuff Tim, and I personally like the dof on the cat.

Loving day 25! Excellent!

Great shot on the Cat, I quite like the DOF too.

Cat shot works fine for me, don't have to have both eyes in focus for a portrait if the subjects at an angle like that, so long as the nearest to the lens is, which it is :-)

Thank's guys. For the cat shot, I was trying to go for a face on narrow DoF type shot, but Mavis wasn't playing ball! I did like that one with the head turned, but would have preferred a wider DoF, so it's interesting to read your thoughts on it.

Anyway, Mavis' owner really likes it, and wants a print out! Muggle's eh?

Ok, soooo sorry for not being around the last couple of days. If ever I post I like to spend time reviewing all your threads and commenting (even if it is only to say "good work") but I have been really tight for time this week. Anyway, have been following your efforts on Flickr (for those who post to the Talk Photography 365 group) and will spend some time looking through everyone's threads tomorrow evening.

A further consequence of the lack of time is I have lots more cat shots to share :bonk: I thought I'd better post something tonight, as we have hit the end of the first month (congrats to everyone who made it this far!)!

On Monday, I wanted to update some images on my blog, so took the opportunity to set up a quick "studio" on my kitchen table an shoot some of my camera collection:

I actually published 2 images on this day, couldn't decide which I prefer:

Then, on Tuesday, I thought I'd better give my cat Gato some time in the limelight as I'd been focussing my attention on our guest, Mavis:

029/365/2013 - Aaarrrggghh! What the ..?!!? by Tim.Garlick, on Flickr

I don't think she's quite as photogenic as Mavis, so I took another portrait shot of her last night with us:

She's gone back home now and, with all the recent pet portraits, I figured it was about time I try something new. Tonight I had my first play with light painting:

I can't believe we have 11 more months of this crazy nonsense!

Love the cameras :) Fantastic shot of Gato ..... looks quite evil in that though I am sure he is perfectly behaved and friendly :) Love Mavis again and Yes you have 11 months to go  I have just done day 52 so only 313 left

:D Will you miss her or can't you wait to get rid of her? ;)
No we will definitely miss Mavis. We didn't want to give her back. She's such a cute cat and really funny to watch. She's a lot younger than our cat so more playful and mischievous :)

don't envy me ..... just remember that in 21 days you too can be like me :cuckoo:

Some great work Tim ...............11 months will soon fly bud. Don't worry about the 11 months just worry about today's shot and go from there...............The crazy corner is a great enviroment indeed.............

now is that light painting do with the iphone app thing, and what's the name of it again if it is?
Thanks Matt, I used an android app called "Light Painting" although I have heard of one for the iPhone called "Holographium" Is that the one you are thinking of? I'm sure there are a few that do this kind of thing. Good fun :)

These are awesome shots Tim, i see them on flickr and thought they were ace! love Gato what a great capture... and those cameras...:love:

Those cameras are superb, can see them beeing printed out and on a trendy cafe wall.

We will miss Mavis, she is most cute.

And I think it better to say that we are 1/12 of the way through :)

I like both camera ones, but prefer the first - some nice colours in there on the lenses, which I like.

Cats - love 'em, love your photos of 'em....but am a little irritated by mine at the moment. Would you believe (spot the woman with no kids) I actually had to get up in the night and give him cuddles because he was crying for them so much? :bonk::cuckoo:

You are lucky, my cat sits by my head when I am sleeping and taps me on the face until I wake up and stroke her. She doesn't mean any harm but it's a bit scary with her sharp claws!

Thanks for the kind comments everyone, and I'm sooo sorry I let myself get so far behind! It seems like I haven't stopped for over a week, and have often been struggling to fit my photo ideas in. Still I haven't given up and have been dutifully snapping away each day. Unfortunately I've spent so much time with my photography I've had very little time for posting on forums (which I guess is a good thing), and now it means I have a load of pictures to post in one go, which I apologise for in advance.

Anyway, here's what I have been up to if you missed me :)

I found some old things in a drawer I was clearing out, so quickly put together this composition which I think pulls together various aspects of my youth:

some brilliant shot there Tim

Oh but you have some fabulous photos.

Loving the smile on the grater. Ian Livingston books! Used to love those. The feather triptic (sp? soz) is pretty wonderful and, for some odd reason, I really like the dead fly. (I say 'odd' because I generally prefer cuter things, like Mavis and Gato but the fly is really rather striking.)

Enjoyed seeing your photos.

Really good catch up.

Prefect and House Captain - would never believe it ;)

Not had Mate for ages, was introduced to it my some Argentinian friends

The egg is really cool - never seen that before, how long does it take for the shell to dissolve?

Feather tryptych gets a big  and the colours in the chameleon are superb. The only good fly is a dead fly  and great flipping action in the pancakes

Brilliant shots!... love the egg now that is super cool!

dead fly... excellent! and so is tropical world.. i see them on flickr and thought wow!

My god, so many fabulous photos to look at! I love the pancake one...and the one after the cinema....oh, and you were a PREFECT??? or did you mug one?
