Time machine restore - dual drives

Hopefully an easy one to answer.

Going to swap our old imac for a macbook.

imac has a 1tb SSD and a 3tb HDD.

New macbook will have a 1tb SSD and a 6tb external HDD.

I'll want to do a time machine restore that has everything from existing SSD going onto new SSD and everything from existing internal HDD going onto new external HDD.

Is that going to be straight forward?

You may need to tell TM that the new external drive is the same as the old drive.
