Hello!

So at work I have set up a Seagate wireless hard drive to back up the work mac to it. Its stored in the server room etc. Its successfully backing up everything, however when I log in to the control panel online from my iPhone or mac from home, I can't see a folder anywhere with the time machine back ups! I've gone over this myriad times and with no joy... anyone any suggestions? Its the 2 TB one that was on offer form Currys for £89 over the holidays

Why would you want to see the folder? Don't you trust Apple?

Try logging into it via Time Machine. Does this work.

How do you know it's successful - have you restored any deleted files yet?

As I recall TM does create a folder structure that's visible to a file exploring application. Most likely it is being hidden from you because of permissions/access control.

I looked on my MacBook which I have been using TM to back up to an external HD. Clicking on the TM symbol on the top bar takes me through to a 'Star Wars' style screen where I can scroll through the backups.

I've not seen it before myself, is this what you mean?

I have the same one as my time machine backup, and while I can see the folder from the mac itself, I can't from my iPad or android phone. Possibly it''s restricted to the mac that makes the backup?

I can see TM backups from any Mac on the network. But it's a really weird format of file so it wouldn't surprise me if thin clients couldn't read it.
