I have 2663 photos ready to turn in to a time lapse but one problem... no free software to do with :gag:

So please help me to make a very dull attempt at time lapse with letting me know what's free and, more importantly GOOD!

I just tried with PhotoLapse 3 but came up with split screen colour hell!

WTH 1 :help:

Are you on PC or Mac?

If it doesn't need to be free forever the Lightroom 3 Beta may be worth a look.

Dump them into microsoft movie maker (comes with windows) and set the frame rate to 24fps, save as HD movie!

if you have downloaded and installed it, you should be able to add the pictures in. Then choose a frame rate, then select all pictures and drag them down to the timeline on the bottom of the screen...

No time line in this one and I can't see how to change the layout the imported images are to the right in a block format...

The new movie maker on win7 is a pile of crap, I spent an afternoon installing it for timelapse and then another few hours trying to work out how to make it do anything remotely useful and come to conclusion it doesnt! :(

In the end I downloaded a trial of Sony Vegas, it seems ok but a little tricky to change the duration of the frames...so much so that I can't remember off the top of my head, and not on the PC with it installed :(

Have you tried Startrails? I know you can do timelapse of stars in it as well as stacking - don't see a reason why it wont work for normal timelapse.
Google it for a free download (startrails.exe)

PS - you can also choose the framerate in it and more importantly - its free!
