Yes
On a shoot at the beach yesterday I ran into a problem of Time Lag Between Shots?

Eos 350d set to TV mode, 1/200

Evaluative Metering, iso 2oo bumped it up to / 4oo and no change

With and without flash, no change.

There was a lag between shots, of a few seconds (I don't have review set so its not that)

Where the Camera says its "Busy"

I didn't want to shoot in continuous mode, as I've only got a 1GB card at the moment and don't have the storage space when shooting in raw but I've never suffered this lag before

could it have just been because the battery was low

What is the card speed? This may be the bottle neck.

I agree with Kev, this is very likely due to the write speed of the memory card. Raw files are much larger and therefore take longer to write.

The 350 doesn't have a big buffer if I remember rightly, I know the 450d 'waits' after about 3-4 shots in rapid (and thats with a half decent card) I still use mine occasionally as a carry around as it's light.

First off as mentioned if your shooting RAW you filled the buffer, second the 350D cannot write to the card very fast, unless your using extremely slow cards putting a superfast card in wont make a difference, Class 6 are more than capable in the 350D

The battery was low, nearly dead infact...

Not sure on the make of the card but will get back...

EDIT: Sandisk Extreme III

Aah Ok then :)

I've never encountered it before, but I always charge my camera after I use it so I've never run the battery fully down before

This time was a last minute shoot and the shot took longer than I thought so the half full battery I took was run down to the bare bones

Will make sure to avoid that next time and invest in another battery

A bigger Memory card's on the list too

I'm not sure how big a card the 350 will take, but with those file sizes you don't really need big cards to get a days shooting on one card.

The mrs now uses my 350D in JPEG mode it will take all our cards to 32gig but only shows 999 photos available on the lcd, a 2 gig cards shows 560 odd jpegs so as Phil states you dont need big cards and really you dont need anything faster than class 6 or 30 meg/sec

Whatever size card I use in my 60D, it will show no more than 999 available shots as well
