As I am off work for a while I thought I would have a spring clean on the pc. Can somebody suggest a good registry cleaner? Are they pretty straight forward to use or do you have to know a little bit about what you will be deleting? Cheers for any advice.

The best cleaner is a fresh install. I've never seen an improvement from a registry cleaner but I have seen stuff I wanted disappear. Long time (xp days) since I've used one so may be better now.

I agree with you there Robert, but at the moment I cannot be arsed to do one

Ok cheers, so does it check everything and delete all redundant files, or will I have the option to pick out any associated files with stuff that I know is no longer on the PC?

Gives you the option on registry stuff but does a lot more than that. I certainly recommend it.

Shouldn't be necessary, but I do recommend a proper Defrag using JKdefrag instead of the rubbish shipped in windows. Made a significant difference to my PC and laptop.
