Did use the search  function but nothing really came up

Anyone on here do it? find it really interesting to look at.

Do you really need an expensive len's for the effect, i know it's creating a shallow DoF but keeping everything in focus (im a beginner so bare with me)

I'm sure i read you can create the effect in processing? is this true

You can do the effect with processing, but actually throwing the plain of focus can only be done with a tilt shift lens or technical camera. The photoshop effect seems limited to making big things look small.

As above, Tilt-Shift has become shorthand for that one effect, whereas a true tilt shift lens or camera is for so much more.

If you just want the miniature effect you can do it in photoshop or similar.

If you want it a bit more believable, try a lensbaby, or if you need a full range of tilt shift movements, buy the proper lens. or a camera with movements.

Thanks guy's, not something i'll really dable with a lot, just wondered how easy it was to do, just an idea to do something creative with what could be a plain/boring shot of some scenery

I see the 'miniature' effect that is a byproduct of a tilt shift lens as very much a novelty. Have a go in Photoshop/other tool and it will soon wear off.
