Tiger Woods and the Mail 'Tog...

Crikey, that must of hurt :)

Surprised at how close the crowd are. I thought they were all supposed to be roped off from the players.

love the look on the face of the gent in the crowd with the cigar

only a wee chip shot - from crowd positions and the "ropes" - nothing full blooded by the swing etc by Tiger's stance.......- obviously hitting behind the ball Tigs has "thinned" it a bit...........

shocking out of focus - can't see Titleist anywhere on the ball......... :lol:

togs last name is - Pain !

I'm kinda dissapointed with d3s + 24-70mm - I think it should've been able to perfectly focus the flying ball and decide that it needed at least f11 for the lovely DoF to see the background well

Great pic

and the guy with the wig in the second shot, at least I hope it's a wig ;)

That's awesome! I wish he'd been firing at 10fps though so we could have had a sequence :D

That'll be cos he hits Nike balls. ;)

That guy with the cigar, looks a lot like the nutter in the film Happy Gilmore who tries to run Happy over with a Beetle. Coincidence much?

Probably why he hasn't done much of late then.............

maybe, just maybe, clutching at straws, it was taken during the 4somes with Stricker.......... (apparently Tiger was well up for a foursome, but then severely disappointed upon arriving at the first tee to find 3 other golfistas there!.............)....... and Stevie plays with a Titleist.........:shrug::shrug: damn!

Good shot - but (there's always a 'but') I think the photographers at that hole were getting a little too close to the action. I think some of them were even snapping away as Tiger was about to swing his shot.
Sure the togs need to capture the images - but.. they shouldn't get in the way of play either.
Still - as a tog you sit/stand where you are allowed to, so it is more up to the stewards to 'herd off' the togs..

It's a tricky one...I saw the shot in the Daily Fail and was chatting to our desk manager who's at Celtic Manor this week...we were saying that actually I'd have originally gone for exactly the same position (as would all of our guys). However, if the player or their caddy is unsure, they'll ask you to move back a bit.

Darren Clarke did it to me this year on the 14th back in June...he had a hellish lie and just said "i'm not too sure about how I'm going to strike this, if I shank it, it's going straight for you...your call if you want to risk it!" I took his advice and stepped back by about 2 feet. Worked fine, and he holed it from the deep rough.

We always get too close and then work our way back...caddies are very helpful in these situations.

Exactly - people can talk to one another after all...

Just a shame Tiger thinks he's above other people and well "if you're where my ball wants to go - then TS". He's one of the worst on the tour for talking to people...and he's always got at least 3 minders with him to clear photographers, autograph hunters and journalists out the way with a shout of "Tiger's walking through here in a second - MOVE"

From what I've heard, he's an all-round c-unit... No call for it and he'll be the first to moan when unflattering photos of him are published...

Juliet Bremner (ITN correspondent) once said to me that she was never mean or rude to her cameramen as they have the ability to make you look truly dreadful if they have a mind to - and will also do their utmost to make you look good if you make the effort to be nice to them (not that it should be an effort, I guess).

I imagine the same goes for photographers... those slighted by 'certain' golfers will be trying their damnedest to get unflattering images of those players - not that I condone such behaviour, of course - most unprofessional...lol

I know that's pretty juvenile but that made me chuckle.

Eh? "This is the Ben Hur of faceswaps, the LOTR trilogy of faceswaps, the Sistine Chapel of Faceswaps."

yeah - some bizarre comments and a majorly OTT use of meh and fail too. web speak gone mental

Well, stories coming in from people there say that this is an absolute lie from the Daily Fail... the ball went up and past the togs head. No further detail than that, but it sounds like it could be a complete lie...

That would make sense, if you look at the trajectory of the ball then it would be about to go over togs head to the left. also if you look at the ball blur would also suggest the ball is going up rather than straight.
