I want to save my RAW files after I've uploaded them as TIFF files so I can upload some pics to Alamy. Problem is my TIFF files at 8 bit which is the Alamy requirement are coming up as half the necessary size. What am I doing wrong? How do I get them to 45 MB size or above without going to 16 bit?

I upload the RAW file to my PC. I open the RAW file in CS3 and save it as a TIFF file.

There is option to compress as LZW or ZIP but this makes it even smaller:shrug:

You need to make the photo bigger. It's just that simple, the file aint big enough because the pic aint big enough.

Upsizing, no sharpening and then submitting feels all wrong but that's what you need to be doing for alamy. :)

Really? Wouldn't it be better to send them an e-mail and ask them if smaller file sizes can be sent in some cases?
I mean, resizing up sounds just so wrong if there's no really good reason for it...

It's an arse, but it's how they work and one of the ways in which they try to guarantee a certain level of quality to the end user.

If you want to sell through them you have to play by their rules alas.

and the rules of the people who buy the images.

P.s. DD,

If you you need to up-res your shots there's loads about it on the alamy site. CS3 does as good a job as genuine fractals these days if you use the BICUBIC SOFTER option.

Failing that you will need a 16Mp plus dSLR I think. The files need to be around 5000px on the longest edge.
