Yes
I know Jessops has taken some stick on here, but just to give credit where it's due I thought I would relate a recent experience. I thought I had a problem with my D90 and my local Jessops couldn't help me and I was resigned to make myself look a fool and ask advise on here. I happened to be in Solihull the next day and called in and asked if I could speak to a Nikon specialist, but the guy I spoke to (Luke) asked if he could help me. To cut a long story short, he was able to sort out my percieved problem and said if I needed anymore help just to ask. I hadn't pretended to be interested in making a purchase, and he didn't try to sell me anything, so it looks as if it really does depend on the knowledge and helpfulness of individual members of staff rather than company policy.

Cheers for posting that, Ken. It's good to hear the positive experiences we have with retailers as well as the negative ones :)

So what was the problem?

So what was the problem?

I was hoping no body would ask, but since you have, I loaded my memory card in the usual way onto my pc and it wouldn't recognize the file. I then noticed they were raw files and I knew I hadn't gone into the memory to change the quality and so thought there might be a problem with the camera. Luke pointed out that the quality could be changed by pressing the bottom left hand button, as soon as he said that I realised what I had done. With that batch of photos I had tried to change the ISO and wondered why nothing happened, I had obviously pressed the wrong button, that's the trouble when you wear glasses for reading and can't be bothered to put them on.
There you go, Iv'e managed to make a p**t of myself to everyone on the forum.

Don't worry, we have all done similar things!

Today for the first time I bought something from jessops. Best experience and bargain advice ;) At first i met a young guy which informed me that they dont process B&W films. Just after seconds i started to talk about C41 he got me a supervisor/manager/big guy who gladly took my film and for 5 quid made 1hour developing service + gave cheap kodak (sorry dont didn't checked type yet) film for free + index page. Superb!
