Yes
Finally found some at Jessops. Amazingly cheaper than they are on on Amazon. Also, they swapped my faulty 5d mk2 with a new body with minimal hassle. For all the advantages of buying online you can't really beat getting an exchange done on the same day and finding some relatively cheap batteries. In saying that though they had the 580EXII for £445! wtf.

There are two branches in Glasgow. The big one didn't have any, had them on order. The smaller one had them in, looked like a fresh batch because the peg was fully stocked. £59.99. Still not cheap but Amazon had them at £65. They're starting to get through but not very quickly.

Jessops have always been competitive on bodies to get people through the door, and make a killing on lenses and accessories, or offer their own brand, to make their profit

Yeah. I have to say though that I was pretty surprised at the price of the flash gun. I mean, that's a ridiculous increase. I wonder if it's an example of what is to come regarding the whole price increase thing that's happening just now.

There are more than two branches in Glasgow, M8 - there's that many in one street

Btw,what was up with your 5D that it had to go back?

There are more than two in Glasgow? Where? I only know the Sauchiehall Street ones.

Take a look at this.

Read about the issue and thought I better take a look at my copy.

Ahh...bummer :( That, as you say, is the advantage of buying locally, especially for a body that costs the same as a small secondhand car...

Jessops...yes.....Sauchiehall St x2, Renfield St at Central Station, Byres Rd and Kilmarnock Rd.

Calumet, up Garscube Rd can be pretty good too

Ah, cheers for the info. That'll come in handy cos I work up the West End.

I was pretty gutted when I saw that. The new body didn't even have the latest firmware on it. So there must be some sort of backlog between shipping units and them leaving the factory.

Calumet are worth a visit if you haven't been over, they're in the industrial estate opposite Arnold Clark's

Ok, now i know Glasgow is a big city but FIVE shops, thats surely just spreading their business across 5 locations and paying 5x the rates and lease on the property? and 2 on the same street is just mental!
And they wonder why they are posting losses at the company!
