I use a PC (:'() and I put some PP'd pics on a friends mac the other day and noticed the thumbnails were showing the original image. When the image was opened it showed the correct image and was fine.

I NEED to stop this happening as it would look very unprofessional to wedding clients, if they see the 'old' image as the thumbnail!

I'm only using Photoshop 6 (yes yes I need to upgrade lol) and in the Preferences I have checked the option for always save previews.

Does anyone know how I can stop this happening? I could open and re-save all my processed shots on my friends mac before sending them out but would rather not have to do this.

Thanks

When you've saved the image on your PC, right click the image thumbnail and press "refresh thumbnail" this should regenerate the thumbnail, see if that helps you?

DS: Canon Zoombrowser, then photoshop 6

Jamesbuk: The thumbnails are ok on my pc, it's when the images are used on a mac that there's a problem. I will try your suggestion anyway. Thanks.

Sorry I have never used Canon Zoombrowser, or a MAC for that matter.

Are the thums in RAW or JPG?

Possible update from PS 6 could be Photoshop Elements 7 for a lot less money.

sounds like something configured on his mac that could be the issue if they are ok on your PC, how did you transfer them to his mac, i can't see with a jpeg how it would keep the old thumbnail, try one by unticking always save previews, i think this is always saving the preview of the original file and the mac is picking up on this.

After a bit of googling it seems that this is related to exif/metadata embedded in the jpeg file. I have had a similar problem before when I uploaded an image to photobucket and then used the exif viewer function in firefox and that too showed the 'old' image as the preview.

Irfanview claims to be able to remove the exif/metadata from jpegs as a batch process so I'll give that a whirl.

Cheers folks :)
