I'll be attending my first super bikes event a thruxton at the start of August. Will only be there for 1 day, any info / advice on locations around the circuit?

Will be taking a 120-400 lens plus something shorter and wider (other than me!)

Assuming Spectator:

Spectator access on the outfield is between the club Chicane to shortly after the Campbell-Cobb-Seagrave complex and it is in these areas most action happens. Spectators on the outfield get a reasonable good view of the start.

On the circuit infield there is a section between the end of the pits near the restaurant.

For Superbikes it will be busy...

Edit: There may well be a supplementary fee to get through the tunnel to the infield. I wouldn't pay it if your sole intention is for photography, but its an opportunity to see the teams in the paddock.

I thought that was when I pushed the shutter release :-P
 
Theres usually a bunfight for positions at Club chicane just before the start finish straight. It's the end of the lap, a good overtaking point and usually lots of action.

Campbells, cob and segrave usually see a few offs there and some close racing, but at speed. You shoot from the banking.
