Hey guys,

Still several pages of unanswered posts. I am going to do my best to get through some of them, but I don't really give the best advice. Hope no one minds though, I used to like the system of spotting new threads by making unanswered posts my home page. That system is bust until they are cleared!! My post count going to go through the roof unless someone wants to help :D
 
I'll be on later I hope - good to see the 'unanswered posts' menu item back :D
 
One of my submissions got picked up a few days late. Via the 'unanswered posts' option I guess.

So I'll make a point of looking at a few when I log on also...

The link disappeared for a fortnight or so, and a build up was made...its back should I guess it will be cleared today or tomorrow, and at that point it should mean all posts get some form of response!!
 
And I thought my mother in law was a blether :lol::lol::D seriously though Gary I'm glad that someone has taken notice of unanswered posts and takes the time to answer. It makes you feel that your posts not completely ignored by the majority. Keep up the good work.
 
The problem is.. if you are just answering the post so they get a response... at the moment all the posts will be running off the bottom of the page quickly.
Then it wont show up in the unanswered posts bit anymore and will be missed by someone who really would have something strong to say about it?
 
If someone had something strong to say about a shot, why wait until it shows some time later as unanswered? I would have thought people know what they are interested in, would seek out relevant posts and comment.

I don't follow. The problem is the link was taken off the site, and people possibly didnt see the thread. What the unanswered posts link does is allows those without comments to be caught, and quite often, the time of post etc is to blame. you often find AMAZING shots a day later with no responses.

I do a lot of web stats, and the distinction is normally (I think)

No hard and fast rule I guess...
 
I'm only going by what one of the mods here said once.
I think someone said something like.. "wow a 100 views and still noone can be bothered to post a comment" and the mod said that the view doesnt necesarily mean a view...

am lost :bonk::thinking::shrug:
 
It could have been unregistered people and/or robots viewing the thread, so of 50 clicks perhaps only 20 would have been registered members who would have been able to leave a comment :shrug:
 
susie is closest.

100 views doesnt necessarily mean there might have been 0 views, nor does it mean there will have been 100 views.
 
I just figured I was that far down the pecking order (having assumed there must be one) that my threads had been ignored if they contained images. I think this was unfounded, and one or two of my attempts were unlucky... ha

I don't think anyone's threads are ignored, depending on time of the post, how many people are online, what else is going etc - it all makes a difference. It's why Unanswered Posts is such a life saver I suppose. Means the threads that have maybe been missed first time round get a bump once spotted.

Exactly...

Another thing that would help posts being missed would be to have more than one page of recent posts? I have seen that on other forums and works a treat.
