I shoot weddings with canon 5d bodies and my wife works with me, she is there mainly to give me a hand with off camera flash etc She is not a photographer but I give her my x100t to snap away with at weddings and she produces some nice "snaps" but they are generally nice moments that I miss due to being tied up with group shots etc.

I have a bag full of canon lenses so I think it makes sense to use the fuji as a family camera and get her a canon so Im thinking 60 or 70d . even though shes no photographer she still is faced with the same challenges as me during the speeches and service etc where at times she is at ISO 6400.

So with that all in mind do yous think the 60 or 70d would cut it?

thanks in advance

Don't see why not, both very capable cameras. My daughter is shooting with 70D also so we can share lens. I guess it mainly depends on how your wife feels about it. Does she enjoy shooting with dslr, comfortable with the weight and controls, keen to learn how to use it etc.

I know I'm not in the pro camp, but I've had useable pictures even at ISO 12800 on the 70d. Obviously this depends on subject, conditions and processing (I really like the prime noise reduction in dxo).

Thanks guys , yeah I think she would prefer a dslr , she knows her way round a camera but she just snaps away , she's not a photographer and doesn't want to be one , but I get some useful shots from her .

My wife actually uses a 100D with a 50 1.8 on it most of the time. It's small and light. I could dig out some high ISO wedding pics from my 70 if you like?

It would be very much appreciated and thank you , get me the worst you have so I can see worst case scenario :-)

Well, here is a link to some I have online (I am lazy you realise...)

I think you should be able to see the EXIF info if you click on the photo, and the (i) icon at the top of the screen. I don't think those have had any noise reduction ran on them (I don't recall running any, and DXO normally changes the exif IIRC)
