Yesterday had to shoot some photo's of my GF art exhibition and it was in the country side with some very bright sunlight with trees scattered around so it was giving all sorts of shadow cast across people faces which became a real pain so I ended up sticking my flash on there which kind of helped things along.

This is the area I was covering, and any thought on what people would have used them self when the place was filled with people walking around.

Hmmm, tricky one - perhaps this is a situation when HDR could help? Nothing over the top, but a mixture of exposures is probably the only way to keep things as 'even' as possible.

Cheers,
James

Sorry I meant on people I showed the picture to let people know the set up for a better idea on the situation.

Big diffuser thing between the sun and the subject, held by an assistant (who can also give you a hand trying to fold it again :D).

Would have needed something rather large for the group shot though, and it would have been a nightmare if it was windy.

fill flash with a diffuser on the shoe for quick moving about type people shots,

or a reflector to even up the lighting?
