After a long hard think about this and a chat with my superior at work I have decided to sell my bike due to my injury which prevents me from ever using it so its just dead money to me:thumbsdown:

I bought it on the works cycle scheme and do owe one payment and the £50 end of contract payment which is automatically taken from my salary but have been given the go ahead to sell, I dont really want to go into why I cant use the bike as its a bit embarrasing "NOT piles" but I simply cannot use it, what I want is your thoughts before I do advertise it and yes it will be here first for someone to grab a bargain.

Before anyone says I am not allowed to sell, I have asked and because of my situation I am allowed to sell it so no ranting please.

It's a shame you can't use your bike but if there is no way you can ride it I'd sell too. You could ask around your work place to see if any one there wants it.

P.s. I hope your injury gets better, what ever it is.

You can't use it Pete, sell it. Move on mate. Sorry to hear that you can't use it. I know how pleased you were when you got it.
My thought always is 'don't look back'. Its done and gone. ;)

is it a MTB or a road bike ?

if a Pukka road bike - maybe contact a local club?

I have "Trek" road bike in the hall - NO WAY am I out in this weather - so if you can afford to - wait till springtime and you might get a better price............

Those that wanted a bike at work took up the offer like me so thats a downer and the injury is an old powerkiting injury and unfortunately wont get better :shake:

I have deliberated about this for ages Kev and its sat under the stairs gathering dust so it has to go, after all its a £1k bike that will never get used by me, sad but fact

Its a GT Zaskar Elite with 10 mile on the clock and I dont mind waiting till spring to sell what does bother me is every day I keep it, its losing value

Same with anything mate, take some good photos, advertise it with a price, and then wait till you get an offer your happy with. Might be worth working out what it has cost you so you can try and wash your face with the deal.

New lens money???

If I sell then the money will go towards a D3 and maybe a few trips out with Kev to Wales..........:naughty:

Powerkiting injury, I can only imagine. Having done loads myself.

I would sell, you are not going to lose anything by it... like Lawrie says, name your price and stick to it, you know what you paid and what you want - do it! More you wait, the less it's worth.

I *will* ride mine again, even if I can get up to just 5 miles a day I'll be happy :(

Think Beamer7..........strange gust of wind whilst scudding and then no wind at 30ft, onto concrete......two weeks in hospital and a life of hip and groin pain afterwards this was 6 years ago but still haunts me lol

I have put it on here reluctantly, but as you have said I wont lose anything and I certainly cannot get any enjoyment from it and it isnt an ornament so its for sale, as for price I got 200quid knocked off through the scheme so I have put it on at what I think is reasonable for a new bike of this calibre

just hope it sells here to a member and I dont have to sell it somewhere else

lol we have an arsey one in the "for sale" thread already

£600 is better spent on something you'll use that something you'll wish you could use, the only thing that would annoy me is that 10 mile trip to the pub would have been cheaper in a stretch limo :D

Funny thing Darren is that I'm the fit one and cycle every day but he got on the bike and was miles in front of me (only coz his bike's a lot lighter than mine) wasn't a happy bunny :(
