Hellooo! Pretty silly question. I'm off to an 80s party tonight, and have made myself my very own 'frankie says relax' tshirt! Trouble is, I don't know what goes with it.. Anyone who was a fan, what were you wearing back in the day?
 
lol 80s fashion, nightmare. Lots of neon colours, leg warmers...

Why not get a pair of leggings and then a neon pair of leg warmers over the top :)

I would deffo say white or stonewashed jeans!!
 
There wasn't really any fashion in the 80's :lol: I think it was the decade that lacked taste.

Big hair, big shoulders, bright colours, tight jeans, legwarmers, ra-ra or puffball skirts. Cerise (bright pink) and 'electric' blue seemed to popular colours, along with luminous socks!!

Google 80's clothes or 80's fashion and you'll get a good idea.

Louise, the Frankie Says t-shirts were worn with absolutly nothing else. Even bra's were a non-no.

If it rains on the way to the party could you posts some pictures for C+C?

If you're wearing a 'Frankie Says' t-shirt, then your partner should wear the even more common 'Who the F*** cares what Frankie says' t-shirt ;)

And yes I do remember both of them.
 
Another vote for the leggings and leg-warmers here,
How long is the T-Shirt? You could also try wearing it like a dress with a big chunky belt around it.

You need the big, wild hair to go with it.
And don't forget the neon eyeshadow and lots of eyeliner.
 
Loose fit pastel pedal pushers, a baggy denim jacket (sleeves rolled up), Boy George hat and black pumps.
Sprinkle liberally with half a hundred weight of gawdy plastic bangles...:D

The problem with the Frankie T-shirts was they never looked quite right with the mahoosive shoulder pads in jackets :lol:

Hope you had fun, would definately have voted for leggings and leg warmers in luminous shades of green and pink to go with the T-shirt and big fat belt :thumbs:


as for tight jeans...quote from every parent up and down the land at the time "did you paint those things on?" :banana:

Blimey. I only had enough time to read two replies before I had to leave.. Just for good measure, I'll post a picture later! I went for a puffball skirt & some hideous footless tights as I had to make do with what I could find in my wardrobe!

Talking of tight jeans being the 80's, do they make 'loose fit' these days, went out last week to get new jeans had to buy them 3 sizes to big around the waist to fit my legs.

Cant say i really remember the 80's much, but judging by the 80's night up the gym lycra was the thing with leg warmers, fine for the women, but not a good look for the men!

I know what you mean about jeans, I struggle to find jeans in a 32" waist that I can get past my thighs. I usually end up with 34" jeans and a belt. If I do see a 32" pair I think might fit, I usually end up giving them to my eldest son as I can't be bothered to take them back.
During the 80's I was into the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, so it was denim jacket or leather motorbike jacket (even though I've never owned a motorbike), jeans, leather baseball boots or cowboy boots.

Hah! Yeah.. that's my other half, I'm not quite sure what look he was going for, I left him to his own devices after I failed to make him a rubix cube to wear round his waist in time for the party, he showed up sporting a blonde wig & motivator headband (actually the neck hole cut out of my tshirt about a week earlier!). He's a funny one that one. :D
 
I'm so glad I was born in '84...and therefore wasn't subject to this crime against...well, not even fashion...taste, decency, sensability.

I mean seriously guys, what were lot smoking back then? :lol:

i am able to admit that i had such atire at some point too.
i did have a bike though.:razz:
