If I have edited a file from aperture to CS3 and done the changes and save it goes back into aperture. But if i were to print that file in CS3 how can i open it in CS3 without having to go through the edit with CS3 process...

When i go to CS3 to open a image it always Master images that shows in CS3 none of the edited ones

If you have save the edited image with layers back into aperture just open it in CS3 via the apeture Edit with comand and it will be the edited version with all the layers still intact then print it from there. Are you saving you CS3 edits in aperture as Tiffs or PSD.

I think i have found the problem as I am using stacks... And it the first image in the stack that appears in CS3 Open file... But if i move the the image i want at the front of the stack that will show in CS3 Open file..

Does this makes sense?

Yeah I do flatten all the images before saving

I work with expanded stacks and I can see which are the original and edited images by the badges.

I never flatten the images that I have edited in PS as that then makes it final I like to be able to change the edit so I level it as a layered file.

You can just select the edited image in Aperture and right click on it and use the command Edit with ... there is no need to load it through CS3 you can do it all through aperture it will start CS3 and then once you are done just say file close and it will ask you if you want to save just say yes..

Not if you have the psd file in aperture selected it will just open that image.

Have you got create new version on edit selected in your preferences.

If you have it is only doing what you have asked.

Hmmm your right lol DOH>...

Do you like this combination? Which do you prefer to print from CS3 or Aperture? And what do you have your colour management set at?? As my printing is different from what i see on screen and my screen been calibrated so thinking of getting the printer done

Aperture and CS3 is the only thing I use, I do my printing from Aperture I only do retouch work in CS3, aperture does everything else.

I will have to check my colour management, but I when it comes to printing i let my HP control the colours and they are pretty spot on.

Going down the road of printer colour calibration can be quite expensive...

Cheers
