I think it's a combination of lots of things. There's loads of little pop culture references throughout the whole animation and I think it's a case of just making it look as cool as possible and reflecting the nature of the track and it's structure.

Although that's just my take. You can read a little interview with the animator here. Oh, and his previous video for Hospital is here.

What he doesn't mention is that Mistabishi is a bit of a nutter, in the nicest possible sense of the word, and has a slightly hyperactive personality. So he's probably throwing suggestions at him about what direction to take the video in and 'bishi is agreeing to everything as it all sounds really cool.

I have to say this isn't my favourite track from Drop. In fact, I can't really stand it.

This, on the other hand, rocks.

Fantastic stuff.
I watched it at work initially with no sound and that was incredibly irritating. Much better with the volume turned way up!
