Currently have a 430EXii which i use of camera using RF602's.

If i want to get another flash would i have to get the 430EXii or one simular for them to sync together..? I use burst some times as i shoot mountain biking and was wondering if it would matter about recycles times..?

Also if it doesnt matter, if any one can recommend another flash, bit cheaper then the 430exii that would be great. Heard good stuff about the Yongnuo flashes.

Thanks,

Tyler

It wouldn't matter if you had a 430 or not - no TTL info is being shared so the trigger system just works as normal :)

The Yongnuo ones seem to have a bit of a following - have a word with Flash In The Pan, he'll put you right on which one to get.

The old Nikons (SB24/25/26/28) are all too expensive these days, although they're gret for manual use because they have wide-ranging power settings. LCD screens are very useful too. I paid £40 or so for a minty SB24 in the classifieds, although you need to keep your eyes peeled for old Nikon SBs on TP because they go like hotcakes :)

I now some people like the old Vivitars and Sunpaks, but I don't know nowt about them :)

RE: the burst - you'll probably have to go by the lowest common denominator (the one with the slowest recycle time). The thing that usually limits me when shooting fast with a mix of old and new flashes is whether the batteries are fresh; never noticed a problem providing you have new juice in each flash :)

I have 2 yongnuo YN - 460 mk2 's running along side my canon 430ex. They are ace. You could check eBay for some older canon flashes if you like but the YN 's are really good you will probably only be firing at <1/2 power so recycling times will be ok.
Dean.

Cheers, are there any problems with the yongnuo flashes going to sleep with wireless triggers, i know some flashes can be a pain.

Not had a problem with sleeping flashes.
Dean :)

I use a £25 Yongnuo and a £15 Centon with along with my triggers and 580EXII. They all work nicely together. Be nice to have 3 580s for bragging rights but I'd be over £600 down too!

What model Yongnuo is it, any chance of a link..?

No problems while bursting or going to sleep on triggers...?
