Had the same site for a few years, nothing massively wrong but feel its time to evaluate what else is out there... anything new in the last couple of years?
Signed up with Reframe, and when I did I must have trialled most out there... PhotoShelter, Clikpic, squarespace etc... Important stuff for me is:
- SEO friendly, so better chance of being higher on Google (appreciate this is driven my content but site construction helps)
- Easy galleries, I can create password protected customer galleries easily in reframe
- Flexible but idiot proof layout. I like a good template but one that can be flexible and easy to use. Many in the past have either been too rigid or too flexible and easy to mess up.
In the past i did look at wordpress but to be honest found how whole thing too complex!! Pretty simple at heart, couldn't get to grips with all the add ons, hosting etc... Much prefer the model around paying £15 or so a month and getting it all done.
Have noticed a lot of templates offer nice looking galleries on the homepage, but does this affect SEO and having good text on this page?
It may well be that reframe does everything, but worth a look to see what else is out there... especially if the likes of squarespace has changed a lot or there are a couple of new players.
