Thinking of buying Elements

I've been using GIMP for about a year now and it's difficult to tweak RAW files with the UFraw plug-in, comes out s##t !
Would it be to my advantage to buy Elements as a step up because i can't afford PS as my photography gear cost over 2k as it is :love:
 
It probably would! Have you tried the trial of Elements to see how you get on with it?

I agree with Craikeybaby.

But if you are happy editing in Gimp except for the raw file converson, then you could try (use the trial) Capture One 5 raw editor which does a superb job with raw files, for just a little more than Elements and also at the moment comes with a free copy Expression Media2 which is way better than the Organizer that comes with Elements. Just something else to consider.:)
 
Thanks i've had a look at both and bought a copy of Elements 8 boxed/sealed off ebay for under 40 quid. i was going to download the trial but it's over 1GB and my connection isn't great. I will still keep GIMP on the PC though for the time being.
