My brother dropped off some computers and unwanted camera stuff yesterday. He's moving to a bigger house and hasn't got room for them. (No it doesn't make sense to me either) Anyway among the gear was a selection of Coking filters, Pola, starburst ect.
Well I got to thinking about the size of the filters, these are the A series, and I realised these wont fit most of my digital lens. Yet I used to use the A series (and P series) with my film cameras with no problems.
The modern lens are bigger, I'm guessing it's for theautofocus and electronics.
So I had a look, my Pentax 50mm 1.4 49mm filter thread, Nikon A1 1.4 was 52mm filter. My current Canon 50mm for digital is 58mm. The Nikon is 58mm.
Nikon a1 28-70 3.5 52mm The current Canon 24-70 f4 is 77mm, the 2.8 is 82mm if I remember rightly.
The Nikon a1 28-105 was 62mm, my current Canon 24-105 77mm, and my Sigma art is 82mm
So if anyone is looking for a Cokin A series 064 soft violet with a clear spot center, let me know.... Small lens only need apply...
