bloody weather ,got two outdoor hobbies i love both involve using electronics and the weather has decided to bucket down all weekend grrrrr

Hotter than the sun here...too hot.
Swap ya.

UK summers are chronic - I remember when I was a kid a constant 4 to 8 weeks of summer while on hols from school.............and a definite distinction between seasons.........its all screwy now.....think our spring plants have been killed each year for years because of frost......I blame the Gulf Stream shifting over our heads.....

Friend in London just sent me a text to say he was off for a walk and hoped he wouldn't get sunburnt - my response was that I thought I'd be paddling - and yes at that moment

down it came again

Sunny Sarf Coast living up to its name, lovely!

looking out my window through the rain and can't even see across the estuary (3 miles ) never mind the irish sea ,and it looks set in for the next 3 days as well :runaway::runaway::runaway::runaway::runaway:

It's been shown that we remember our childhood summers through rose tinted specs.
Weather records (which do go back a long way), show they were not dissimilar to current summers.
(Except 1976). :-)

Ruth is correct, kent is baking hot.

Dawlish was baking hot at 10 but raining and getting to be pisersistent when we left at about 16:30. Red Arrows were due but there was little chance of any decent shots and we've seen them there a few times before. When we got home, we discovered that they had cancelled anyway. Unsure as to whether the BBMF turned up or not.

It was good to clean my pants

Went out for a walk earlier. Hot, blue sky with scattered light cloud.

10 minutes from home the sky suddenly darkened and the heavens opened, accompanied by spectacular lightning and crashing thunder.

I got drowned!

It was fantastic.

Fantastic lightning show up here in Manchester.
even better here ,house atop a hill overlooking the dee estuary and irish sea ,i can see liverpool and chester easily ,probably about 30 miles range in three directions ,so quiet a spectacular storm for me

I will look out the back door and give you a wave :)

Ooooh I'm so jealous! :bat:

There were several people walking down the main street of our village.

We were all smiling.

:)

Heavy rain and thunderstorms here in my part of Cornwall, being overcast, miserable for several days, things can only
get better.

Alright alright...no need to brag about it  ;)

I was half thinking about putting the camera on a tripod, and trying to get some lightening shots outside my back door. But it was raining, and my bed was very inviting, especially with my missus in it. Not a difficult choice really, soaking wet or warm snuggly bed :)

Sorry Ruth - I have reviewed the available data, my missus has put it in a spread sheet and we have calculated a trend, The weather when we was kids was scorchio when we was off school simple as that...and when it did rain we stayed out because it was refreshing....o_O

:D

Temperature is less than half of that on Saturday! !
14 degrees and tipping it down!
Happy days!!

Although I'm quite high here. I'm still in a bit of a bowl. There's mist on them Thar hills and a big black cloud over head. I keep expecting to see a T-Rex to come lumbering out of the woods.. Or Velociraptors emerging from the long grass

You jest, but given your location it's entirely possible!
I take it you're a certified 'raptor whisperer? :-)
