Things you hate about a

People who stand behind you at the check out huffing and puffing tapping their feet whilst old arts like me try to remember that stupid pin number and on a Saturday they seem to be even more of the annoying sods
Disabled drivers parking in non disabled bays
People that wont get out of the way of my mobility scooter healthy people that think they should have the right of way
Just maybe if the world had a smile and a helping hand now and then things could run so smoothly
Why get annoyed about the little things and big issues are just too big to get annoyed about

They just don't build them BIG enough ! the Tesco's here in Sleaford has been upgraded 3times and guess what...they plan to move it to the other side of town within a new development. I always giggle to myself when i drive past and see the car park absolutely FULL on saturday morning at 8.00am.

id hate that, im one of those annoying people that pick over the veg to get the best stuff.

don;t tend to buy supermarket meat because its crap, the quality is awful (although morrisons is not too bad and they do always tend to have lamb shanks in) we get our meat from the local market.

Tried that, twice. Both times I had to go there to change things they had gotten wrong and collect things they had forgotten. And the cuts of meat they selected were awful.

Apart from that, it was pretty good. :p

You wanna try Waitrose Marc - people think there expensive but Iv'e proved otherwise. We've been using them for about 3 years and yes, we get the odd mishap but the service is top notch. (I suppose your going to tell me now that you are talking about Waitrose!!)

Don't be daft. Marc was on about Aldi

:lol:love this thread ..... I have a 5 year old son who takes liberty and sprawls out on the end of the counter, having a nap, whilst mom packs the bags and then he has the cheek to say 'get a move on'! Personally I think they should remove those 'little cheek loungers' and get the youngsters packing (at least that is what they do back in South Africa) OMG what has this world come to?

Why do so many pensioners, and others who 'may' have free time during the working days of the week, choose to do their shopping on a Saturday ??? If they can/could, I'm sure they would find it less hassle for them to go to the supermarket, thus creating less congestion and hustle & bustle on the weekend :cuckoo:  :cuckoo:

:plusone:
and families should be doing "family-stuff" on weekends not dragging their sprogs to Morrisons. they're open till 8pm or 10pm FFS......

Nah, Im talking about Tescos but I'm going back about 15 years.

15 years ago! - that must have been when they used those 3 wheel bike jobbies.

yeah i agree with you there morrisons meat is better than any other supermarket, but there are times when i think the quality is unsatifactory especially beef. why cant these supermarkets get it right? prepacked beef is cut way too thin all too often and in stupid weights, what can you do with 170grams of rump steak ffs? i want a bloomin lb of the stuff!

yesterday i went shopping with my mrs and (we) decided to try the butchers that she suggested. oh yeah the meat was nice and apparantly an award winning butcher, but good god the prices were taking the wee so decided im not paying that much for meat. trip to somerfield after doing groceries in morrisons, somerfield meat was dire. im well peeved by now. so then go to sainsburys for the meat as it on the way home.

wish there was a good quality local butchers to buy the meat from on an as needed basis like it was done in the old days.

supermarkets.... you suck big time... think i will try out the market next week see what is available there, BEFORE i go to whichever supermarket i favour that particular time.

but what peeves me most of all, if they can put meat on special offer 1 week, why not keep it at that price at all times to represent good value for money instead of announcing record quarterly profits on the FTSE.....

what amazes me more though, is all the lazy ready meal foods whatever happened to good old fashioned proper cooking? vegetables are are relatively cheap and if you could get good quality meat at an affordable price, you could rear end the greedy supermarket chains.

thread rant of the year already perhaps

Yep, the supermarkets have a lot to answer to regarding the size allocated for parking slots. Then (equally) of consequence is the barsteward who opens their door carlessly and leaves a big ding in your door, but doesn't have the common decency to leave a note on your windscreen with their contact details - or, even just to say sorry!

They should have a look at the car parks that Costco have as standard. Fits an estate car with ease and both doors open due to the double lines between the cars rather than the single lines.

Parent and child spaces, out of a general principle.

Somehow my parents managed to get two kids and all the stuff needed for the exercise that is the weekly shop into a Ford Anglia and didn't need a parking space the size of a football field outside the supermarket door to do it. Actually, there were almost no supermarkets back then, Mum used to drive over to Ruislip as Tescos was the only one in about 15 miles.

I still do proper cooking almost every night, but I don't cook potatoes, ever. The stodge content of every dish is always pasta or rice (I come from a family where it was potato, every day). Carbonara tonight, for example,

I am not above collecting a microwaveable meal or frozen pizza if I'm late home and don't want or don't have time to cook properly though.

This thread reminded me of an old cartoon I did a few years ago . . .

I do both, if I'm working late shift I never know if I'll be around at meal times so I'll often bung a ready meal in the oven, but if I have time I enjoy cooking properly. Tesco meat and pies etc. are dire, Morrisons beats them hands down.

I always do my Tesco run Friday night, after midnight. No problems of any sort.

People who look sideways or even behind them, when they're pushing the trolley forward and fairly speedily....usually right into my damn wheelchair!

People who try to climb over me to get something, say "excuse me please" and give me about 5 seconds, and I'll be out of your way mate....

Internet shopping :lol: The people going around with oversized trolleys picking the orders are one of the biggest causes for congestion, why dont they work nights and do it  We have a local meat wagon and a fruit & veg wagon that turns up on a weekend, and their produce far outways the quality of our local Tesco`s.

Went to do the weekly shop yesterday at Sainsburys. Amongst the items needed were teabags.

A 160 box of PG Tips teabags was £3.86. I then spotted in Sainsburys the same brand with 240 teabags for £3!!! You can guess which I purchased! It's not the first time I've spotted this sort of daft pricing in supermarkets.

Mines the dopey assistant who can see clearly you have a trolley load of shopping and then asks if you need bags before handing you two, then repeatedly giving you two at a time!!!

What do they think we're going to do juggle it all to the car?

No They are just doing their Job how they have been told to do it.

1. customers who kick off and start shouting and swearing at the shop assistant because they were asked for id and didn't have any.
2.customers who let their darling bratts run a muck all over the place.
3. the customers that stink the whole shop out buy some soap..
4.oh and the customers that pick something up then decide they don't want it and just leave it where ever.. Put the ****er back where you found it.
5. the nice customers who think it ok to throw rubbish on the floor.
6 . rude customers please and thank you are the magic words.

ok i'll shut up now. been a long week at work in the co-op..

Judging by the state of my bag for life i dont have much longer to live ... :shake:

.

in that case take it back to the shop you got it from and it should be replaced for free.

Supermarket!!
Anything goes, does not have to be specific to any store but the more name dropping the better

Two things that jar me off are people who spend loads of time farting about at the till paying for stuff on the credit card, and then pull a magazine or some other insignificant piece of crap from out of nowhere and have to pay for it seperatly, so more time wasted rooting about looking for the correct money.

People with kids, dont get me wrong on this one I adore children but for christ sakes mum`s, lash the the little rug rats to the side of the trolley or something.

Oh! and lastly, it should be compulsary for anybody standing about gossiping and blocking the place up to be escorted off the premises immediately :D

Apart from that I love supermarkets

Lol'd man!

I get annoyed when the person working the checkout is slow as buggery and it takes ages to get your shopping done.

...and another thing!

...When the checkout staff and the customer strike up conversation. No I don't mean the idle plesantries during the packing & pay-up, I mean that once the shopping transaction's done they continue to go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on... And, appear quite oblivious to the queue backing-up.

Yeah that gets my goat too.

Buggers fannying about with their blasted lottery tickets when all I need is fags.

Buggers buying fags when I want to but a lottery ticket
