That's what you get when your ministers ignore the national statistics and don't even communicate with each other. They must have know way earlier and discuss it with the EU while there was still time. Oh well, they decided to make into political battle instead.
Somehow they didn't complain when they got rebate all the previous years. And they could have rebalanced the budget in time and have more public spending, etc. This government is really past its sell by date.
They will clearly get no sympathy from Brussels after being so downright nasty. I even suspect this had something to do with the size of the figure. Go eat it con-dems.
